Then they didn't do the test correctly.
IMO, leak down test will tell all more than anything else will.
Warm up engine. Remove oil fill cap, air filter, radiator cap, and plugs. Then pressurize each cylinder with the piston at TDC.
Air hissing out the intake? Bad intake valve
Air hissing out the exhaust? Bad exhaust valve
Air hissing out the oil filler? Leaky rings
Air bubbles at the radiator fill? Leaking HG
