How on earth do you make a trailer to carry cars with no brakes? Is that even LEGAL in the USA?

You'd be charged and convicted of reckless endagerment and careless driving and probably lose your license for 2+ years if you did that over here in Aus (what the dodge did). It's ILLEGAL to make a trailer bigger than 6'x4' (single axle) over here without at least hydraulic brakes. Anything over 18 foot long has to be electric brakes with an approved controller in the car. (IE: Anything bigger than your average car trailer).

Stuff like this scares me. My old FJ73 has (safely) towed a hzj75 troop carrier on a car trailer behind it because our trailers are made to spec. It sure as hell didn't go fast, but I had no trouble braking or steering. My HZJ75RP Ute has a rated tow capacity of 3500kg and I would have ZERO inhibitions towing a full 3.5 tonne plus a full 1.4 tonne load in the back of the ute at the same time.

I think the issue at hand isn't what the car can handle, but what spec are the trailers made to?
