120-series forums?
I'm still in the "thinking about buying a 120" stage, the boss is eventually going to pull my company car. This forum is really slow, to the point of not very useful. I'd expect a vehicle this popular to have a fairly busy forum of enthusiasts, but even toyota120 isn't very busy. An active forum is a big plus for any car I own and maintain. Any other forums I can look at?

t4r.org is the busiest, but not nearly as active as IH8MUD. It is having severe tech issues after a software upgrade and is down alot. It is also largely populated by younger owners mainly interested in appearance upgrades.
Yotatech.com also has a 120 forum.

Hmm, I'd expected 4Rs would have a much more active online community. I know it's unfair to compare to Mud, but the Subaru and Audi model specific forums are much, much busier. Even the BMW 740/750 and Volkswagen Phaeton forums show more posts per day. I figured there must be a busy site I wasn't finding, guess not.

The aussie sites are probably the best for Prado tech. This one is not busy but seems to have some decent posts.
You may have to sign up to view the threads
But like all new car forums its all about floormats and tantrums over dealer servicing

Remember, this is also the newest of the Tech sections within the forum structure here, so they always take time to grow....the other minitruck/etc corners both took some time, but have grown greatly in the past year.

I appreciate that you help keep me from surfing all over the internet to get my toyota fix. Now if I could convince my wife that I should get rid of this 4runner and get a 100 we would be all set.

The best forum for the 4Runner (120 series-based) that I know of is toyota120.com. They've been very active for over 4 yrs now, they have been instrumental in the development of aftermarket parts, and they are very active into off-pavement. There's also Fj and Tacoma guys on the site as well.

The Gx470 is still a new vehicle under warranty and high cost still I think that why many people are not intrested in moding. Also the Prado and Gx 470 is relative new here in the US.
That is why I would consider it

The Lexus forums weren't quite as useful as others when I had the GX. T4R does seem to be more interested in the shiny bits. YotaTech is still one of my favorites, including IH8MUD and the Toyota120 forums.
