Part of what you have said is correct, but not all, if you put the inflation required on a 100, to stop outer tyre edge wear, then you end up with a rough ride, and a tyre which wears the centre instead because of the pressure being so high.

On a heavy truck like turtle, the pressure, vs wear is easier to get right, because the truck is always heavy, and will always run greater pressures.

And of course rim width effects tyre roll, and edge wear, by pulling the sidewalls in, or letting them out, thats why tyre manufacturers recommend a tyre width to suit the tyre, and its width, because it is an important part of correct tyre fitment.

Thanks for the post Greg. I'm actually looking for something replace my 305s and as much as I liked the way the 255s looked on Expeditions West's Taco, I'm not certain they'll look so good on the 100.
