this is one of those obscure tiems nobody has probably even known about or been asked for, so you must go equipped with the part number.

Melchor, Read the thread and look at the pictures (proof). In the thread, you will find the part #. Order the part online and install it. It takes about 30 seconds to pop the piece out and install the new one. I use it every day to hold my cell phone. I love it. I have been ordering Toyota parts online from www.partznet.com (Conicelli Parts Center) for the last 4 years. They have always filled my orders cheaply and quickly. I paid $10.12 for mine. The part # is 58839-60040. In the future, I'm planning on trying out one of the parts guys who frequent this site. Melchor, what I have found is that most of the people at the dealers have no idea what they are doing and would rather not spend the time on your $10 question. Welcome, and enjoy the forum. (Edit: ok, I didn't read all the responses and the question has already been answered several times )

My 01 has it. I'm pretty sure it came with it. I know the previous owner and there's no way she made any mods to it.

Thanks so much for the pocket info. I went into the local dealer where I know a young parts guy, and asked for the part by NUMBER. He had no idea what it was until I ordered it. I used to work in parts and enjoyed finding obscure parts for vehicles. Cell phone fits just right.

Just to dig up an old post.. does anyone have a picture of this console device?
The thread is older so I can see what you all are talking about, but it sounds handy. Get one! You'll never know how you got along without it!
Just noticed in your sig you have an '04. My '04 had the pocket when I bought it (used), but I just assumed all '04's had the pocket already. I bought one several years ago for my '00. __________________ BillWms01 '08 FJ Cruiser '04 uzj100 '00 uzj100 ''88 FJ62 |

Yeah.. I got a pocket there.. is that all this thread was talking about?? I thought it was for some type of change organizer that holds quarter, dimes and nickles in nice slots?

I've seen the threads here. The link in the original post is to a pic from 2005... its not there anymore.
I've talked to TWO local Toyota dealers, as well as searched several of the online parts guys. Nobody has a shot of the pocket, and nobody has the drop in pocket. The part number shown in both threads comes up as the cover. I'm looking for the drop-in pocket. The drop in pocket - not the cover. Cover I got. Pocket I need. As I understand it, you pry out the cover, snap in the pocket. Can anyone assist? I can't seem to find the pocket. Thanks Ken |

Is that the little pocket below the ash tray beside the shifter driver side? I have a 99 and have been wanting to order one. Also, is CDan around anymore? I've herd him mentioned in posts but don't ever see him in this forum. If he is too busy I will just order locally unless someone has another suggestion... Does anyone have a picture of this????

Dan's still around, but is on vacation at Cruise Moab for the week. He'd know right what it is without the part number and gives a Mud discount too.

They may have reassigned the part number, but that is the number I used to order mine 2 years ago. If you can wait for Cdan, he is great and you know you'll get what you want.

I recall when I got mine it was called a cover too, and the dealer had to order it. Just a couple days later I had it.
I know my local dealer parts counter lets you see the parts diagrams with numbers to verify orders, so I did see that it was the pocket, but called "cover", to which we both chuckled. __________________ __________________________________________ '00 LC '05 4Runner V8 "A mind is like a parachute - It only functions when open" |

Thanks - I'll wait for CDan. I've already received and had to send back one cover.
