Blown shock?

After looking at my carnage from yesterdsay at Riverrock orv, I have oil seeping from the driver rear shock, the whole shock is doused in a thick oil. No smell, just thick oil. Kind of a brown color. Any input would be great. Pics coming later for more info.

For the orv, tons if off camber and huge slick rock walls, so I was constanly on 3 wheels (pics in the pic thread FYI). Could I of overextended it?

Easy way to tell is to jump on the bumper on that side and then hop off. If the truck doesn't stop moving up and down, the shock is dead.

I don't even think Cory's test is necessary, your shock is obviously dead!!! It sounds to me like your shocks were not originally set up for the amount of travel you have in extreme terrain?? My guess is to protect your new shock(s) you are going to have to use longer shocks and/or taller bump stops---shocks have to be protected!!!

Well, after going off the curb, and jumping. It seems to have no effect on the truck. Driving you can't tell that much, but speed bumps and hitting potholes at a slow crawl ( pulling up at stoplights) seems to be more noticable. I'll be moving to he N74L's when I get back home. That'll be in a few weeks. there is a constant oil leak coming from it. I think the 866 springs may of pushed them down to hard. I was wheeling pretty good. My underside shows.
