Clunk, Clunk, Clunk sound

I just got back from a week in Southern Colorado. I was driving in 1-2FT of snow with temperatures down to -14F. I did not get stuck, but chains on my BFG-AT's would have made things a bit easier.

So now I have a clunking sound coming from the front left wheel area. It only occurs on rough pavement and affects the handling in no way. I can hear it, but really can't feel it in the steering. I thought at first that maybe my slider had come loose, but that does not appear to be the case (nor can I feel or see that anything else is loose).

It "sounds/feels" like maybe a bushing in the shock mounts is loose or broken... as if when the shock is compressed normally it moves normally, but when it extends fully there is some play making the clunking sound.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Looks like I'll make a trip down the hill to see Slee this afternoon

see if you can sneak out a rear bar when hes not looking, i'll come by and pick it up from ya next week!

Cant say I've noticed THAT noise, but when I have the wheel cranked hard left and go over a bump (such as curb) i hear a loud pop...then again that hasnt happened in years so this post is pretty much completely worthless.

Not worthless, I'll be sure to wear a big coat so I can sneak out that rear bar

I had a lower shock mount make that noise, checked the bolt for loose-ness by hand and there was no play. It was even tight with a wrench, just not tight enough. Snugged it up and it was good to go.

De-iced it and the working theory now is that it was caused by all the ice build-up between the body panel and the left slider (Thanks Joe@Slee). It's not making the noise any longer.

Funny that you bring this up, because I have noticed the ginormous icebergs that build up on my Slee step sliders. Huge. Like, bring down the Titanic huge.

Funny. I did think the heated mirrors were a little ridiculous when we bought the 100, but damn they've come in handy a couple times.

I'm thinking you'll need about 6 curling irons per side...

See if you can get the company that makes that IR heater you got for the shop to make a retro-fit kit for your sliders. That should keep them warm enough .
