repairing drivers door glass plastic holder to regulator

Hi, all

the holder that hold the glass has broken off,i have tried JB weld no luck and epoxy with no luck either.Does anyone have any idea? You have to buy the glass just to replace that holder $280.I was thinking of drilling the glass and holder with a diamond tip drill and using a bolt to hold them together. The circle one is the one that's broken.

Erven.

Try the glue that you can get at Autozone type places that is for gluing a rear view mirror on. However, I have heard from some people that they haven't had good luck with that and they've gone straight to an auto glass repair place. Apparently they get the industrial grade stuff.

You don't want to do that....it's meant to break away without shattering the window. That said, I did see a write-up on the board where someone successfully repaired it.

Ok, thanks guys.I see there is a problem with that holder.I forgot to say i brought a new regulator, that's when i saw that the plastic holder broke, i installed it any way.

Well this is my second chance at trying to repair it, the first epoxy didn't work, so i went to work and got some airplane 5 min epoxy (you know the type we use to hold the wings on when there is a problem right at departure ). So let see if it works this time.
