What should I pay?

I have an opportunity to purchase 1 1998 Land Crusier. One owner, looks very clean. 137,000 miles, good tires. Any ballpark advice on what I should be willing to pay?

I would say 10-11k. 9k wouldn't be unreasonable of a starting offer.

As genericLC stated: I would, particularly in light of the higher fuel prices, start at $9,000ish. And be sure the 90K PM has been done. It would also be good to know what was included when they did the 90K PM (like water pump, pulleys, starter motor/contacts, etc).

And get on your back and take a good look at the undercarriage. If its been anywhere close to salted roads you will see surface rust. If you start modding this the rustiness will be a total PITA (go ahead ask me how I know ) and add to either your or someone else's work/time to work around the rusty bolts, etc. But may be another bargaining chip for you.
