Strange noise coming from rear suspension...

I searched around and didn't exacty find anything that seemed like the problem I'm having. When I am on a rough road or hit bumps, I get a squeaking/clanking from what seems to be the driver's side suspension somewhere. I have crawled under there a few times and inspected bushing, the placement of the springs, inspected the shock (they are a bit worn, but that wasn't it). I tried banging on stuff with a shot mallet to get some vibration or anything and I can't replicate it. It seems to do it on medium to hard upswings and it's quite loud, but the truck is driving the same as before the noise, and I can't find the culprit. Any suggestions short of dismantling the thing and putting it back together?

EDIT: I checked my spare and it's in there nice and snug.

E-brake cables or hardware?

Look at your shocks again. I had a bad bushing one one of my OME shocks and the shock would slide forward and make a lot of racket.

I would say it is the shocks had the samething on my 99 LC. New set of Bilsteins fixed the problem and improved the ride 100%

Could be rubber hangers for the exhaust. Mine squeek sometimes. Not drivers side but it's hard to tell if you're the one driving where noises are comming from. Could also be loose lower shock mounts, tighten the bolts, if it kind of clunks.

It sounds like the upper rear shock bushings/washers to me .
