rear wheel / axle squeak

I did my research on past posts and found that I have the same rear wheel / axle squeak that others have. My low mile 05 LX sounds like a 1970 Ford pickup, or POS trailer when going over crisp bumps and sounds like its going to fall apart off-road. It’s like a cross between a rattle, and a squeak. I saw a few of you lamenting over the same problem, but no solutions. Has anyone had any luck? I spent the day removing both rear tires and the spear. No luck. I’m off to the stealer tomorrow. Any words of guidance would be much appreciated. The only bushing I can’t see to check is the top shock bushing. How do I get access to it?

I bet it's the e-brake - either the cable or the bell cranks. That's what mine is and at least one other person reported too. You can safely spray the bushings with lubricant and rule those out, even the top shock mount.

Mine's the bellcrank. I haven't dug into it, once I ID'd it as something that's not critical, I put it on the back burner for a future fix.

Nospell,

Sometimes it can also be the springs - sometimes mine will squeek right where the rear spring makes contact with the rear axle. I just make sure its clean and sray some WD40 on there and it goes away until it dries up again. Good luck and please give us an update on what your fix is. Thanks.

E-brake is my guess, or at least something you should eliminate as the source. Mine started rattling like hell around 80-85K miles (00 LX).
