'98 wiring enigma

Our '98 has been acting a bit ornery lately in the electrical department. Our Garmin GPS went dark on a recent trip and we realized the power outlet lost power. Subsequent investigation revealed all the acc. outlets to be out, and the lighting for the radio console, clock, audio LCD, temperature, and all the LEDs for the AC, mirror heaters and such are also out. These functions seem to work however. The radio does not work now.
We found a blown fuse (Radio fuse) and replacing it did nothing. All other fuses look to be intact but we've not metered them.
It should be mentioned that the Garmin cord was acting up and might have a short in it.
Also, the ignition key has occasionally not been engaging when we turn it. After a few tries it starts but there's an intermittency in the switch or something. Possibly related?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Your key issue sounds like starter contacts.

OK. Is it worth shooting some contact cleaner in the keyhole?

No, search for or look in the FAQ for starter contacts. It's the contacts on the actual starter motor.

Two seperate problems
Starter contacts as already mentioned

Check a couple of the bigger fuses in the fuse box in engine bay, 50amp and 80amp, they supply accessories and other circuits, sound like you have lost a few circuits so probably one of these.

FYI

It turned out to be the fuse marked 'cigar', which also does the radio and all the LEDs for the center console. The power outlets started working after replacing the 50 amp fuse #44 but the old fuse tested fine. All's well for now. Thanks for all the input!
