air conditioner pump conversion

Has anyone out there done an air conditioner pump to air pump conversion.
I have an old pump of a corola and was thinking about converting it to an air compressor. I would be interested in any and all info re lubrication fitting etc. Thanks in advance, Gazey

Here's what little I know... most people use York-style compressors (AC) as they have their own lubrication reservoir. Most all others, including the one you have off a Corolla uses lubrication from the freon/refrigerant. In order to use it as an air compressor, you would need to add some kind of inline lubricator.

The challenging part for the 100 is the lack of space in the engine compartment for an extra compressor. I know Spressomon was working on a set-up so hopefully he'll chime in.

Thaks for the info hoser
I was thinking of adding an inline lubricator like you would use for pnumatics on the inlet side of the pump. Not sure if I would get enough air flow through it to do the job.
