First mods - bumper + lamps at Iron Pig Offroad

I got my 2006 TLC just under a month ago and after talking to a few shops I felt very comfortable in the expertise and service level offered by Iron Pig Offroad, based in Fredericksburg, VA. I ordered my parts, checked with Cam on Thursday that everything in place and drove down there (roughly 60 miles from my house) Friday Nov 2.

This is what I brought home less than a month ago

I arrive around 10:00 AM and pull into the garage, which incidentally has around 15 other Toyotas on the shop floor in various stages (plus more on the lot outside)

Off with the front bumper and Cam starting working on the mods

First stage finished:

Allen and Cam are working on the initial fitting:

Later they put on the IPF integrated fog light kit as well as a pair of Hella Rallye 4000 FF (yes, there will be light!) and this is what it looks like after about 4 hours:

Or closer view:

I cannot say enough about Lance (owner), Cam (manager), Allen and the others at Iron Pig - pure professionals, passion for what they are doing and fun to hang out with. I'll definitely be back with more work. Here is a snap from outside the building:

I'm doing the mods in steps, next up have to be those running boards because they look crazy now when I have the full ARB front bumper! :-) Rear bumper to follow. And much more I'm sure.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Cheers,

Looks awesome, I'm glad you liked the the work they did. Always a little nervous giving a reference to someone. To your point, Lance and his team are solid, and know what they are going. Best shop in our area of Northern VA... no doubt.

How is the AHC suspension doing with the extra 100+ pounds from the front bumper. Any issues?

Keep us posted on the other mods.

Nice! Looks extremely familiar, except that mine is Sonora Gold Pearl. I have the exact same bumper and light setup, and just dropped a 9K winch in it and bolted on some better recovery points. I also replaced all the mounting hardware with Grade 8 / Class 10.9 stuff. Otherwise, they look like twins!

Great job getting the mods on a new truck!

Kudos to VA Runner for the recommendation.

No problem with the AHC so far - it adjusts itself as needed. Originally I though I would have to adjust the torso-bars but it seems to be doing fine.

I don't have the exact weight of that full ARB front bumper, but I'm guessing around 130 lbs and then the full-metal Hella 4000's are actually surprisingly heavy.

Next? I haven't quite figured that out yet but it seems to me that those running boards and the back-spoiler gotta go (does that back-spoiler even do any good?), back bumper, either Kaymar or ARB (Kaymar seems to have a loyal following here but the guys at Iron Pig was of the firm opinion that the ARB was a better piece, but they install whatever I wanted of course). And yes, iPod integration! :-)

I'll wait with any raises, new tires, suspension etc - I need to drive it a bit more and if I make it any taller it won't fit in the garage in the building where I work... (or 80% of the garages around here in the DC Metro area)
