Featured 100 - ckkone

Hi all,

A little info about me:

Originally I hail from Madison, WI but had to leave the cheese heads, the Packers, and the flat land behind. From there I spent a few years in San Jose living and working, but quickly (with help from the wife) realized it was not the place where we wanted to start a family. I knew a few people living along the Wasatch front, took a few extended weekend trips there and knew it was the place. We moved to Salt Lake City in Jan. 2001 and have never had any regrets.

Motorsports has always been an interest of mine, I'm a die hard Formula 1 fan. I got involved in wheeling with the help of a few friends, hearing their stories about Moab made me want to get a rig to go join in on the fun.

I started out in 2005 with a 01' Tacoma with the following mods:

- Front Suspension: 8” Travel King Coilovers with Remote Reservoir,
Limit Straps, Total Chaos UCA, Cornfed Diff Drop, Manual Hubs
- Rear Suspension: Alcan Leafsprings with Bilstein 5150
On-board Reservoir Shocks
- Bumper and Sliders by Badland Bumpers
- Energy Suspension Polyurethane bushings throughout
- Hayden transmission cooler
- 285/76/16 BFGoodrich ATs
- Canvas topper, by softtopper.com
- DIY CO2 system

It was a great rig but with 2 toddlers and family always coming to visit I needed something bigger with more seating; and a minivan was out of the question.

I purchased my 99' UZJ100 in Feb. 07' bone stock and wasted no time getting it ready for camping and wheeling. The mods go something like this:

Tires:
295/75/16 Nitto TG's

Lift:
OME N133 front shocks
OME T-Bars
OME 863 rear springs
OME N74L rear shocks
OME 840 bushings (needed to run the N74L 80 series shocks)
Slee diff drop

Armor:
ARB Winch Bull Bar
Slee Rear Bumper w/ tire carrier
Slee step sliders

Future Plans:
ARB fridge
DIY drawer system
Warn winch
Safari Snorkel
Dual battery

So far I've only been out on a few day trips, nothing to interesting....I should be taking another short day trip in a week or so and will post some more pics. Also a tirp is planned for Moab in Oct. and I will update after that as well.

If you want to peep how my rig went from stock to where it is today I did a build up thread:

In the pic of the front shock the CV boot is leaking...did you address this? FYI: If you get to it early on you might be able to just do the boot rebuild...otherwise you'll need to replace the entire CV shaft assembly. Just an FYI.

Lets see, Front Bumber Black, Rear Black, slidders Black - did you say your trim will be black or White. I am thinking Black trim would look great.

Are those all the same standard powder coat Black - standard for ARB and SLEE?
Nice looking Rig! I too will be building some DIY drawers soon - too much stuff in the back just in case.

I'd like to paint the trim black, just trying to find time. I really need to take some new pics. When I signed up for ROTM I thought I would have had a few trips under my belt, however life keeps getting in the way....

The ARB and Slee bumpers match perfect, the sliders have a rough finish...it all looks good together!

This was a great build up read. Still looks awesome!

I sent my buddy this link in hopes of getting him to build up his white 03.

So far he's put on an ARB and some BFGs.

I'm gonna keep working on him.
