Ignition (I hate my LX470)

So I just replaced my front diff, lol

So today I go out to my prized LX470 and the the ignition moves freely, its totaly lose, has if someone tried to steal it but no visible damge, looked on the camera, nothing wierd, just an old camry going around, I'm towing the car to Lexus tommorow but any you guys ever have this on your 100 series before.

Happened to my bosses 2000, replaced the switch.

So the problem is like $1200, ignition switch cylinder or something, I'll talk to him about how it failed or broke tommorow...

Is there a way to retrofit a LC ignition switch & key? Couldn't you just transfer the chip in the LX key to a LC key body? From my understanding, the LC doesn't have the same ignition switch since the pattern cut in the key is on the outer edges?

Sounds like a good time to change to the keyless ignition system. Rig the transponder to work with the key in your pocket and use a push button instead.

i mentioned to my friend who had a pushbutton start car how i hate not being able to turn a key to start the car...the next week my ignition did the same thing, had to tow it to lexus to get it replaced. was 700 something dollars but covered under warranty...good luck

Anyone know if one can fit one of the new pushbutton systems like on the LS460, ES350, or IS350 into the LX?

having mine LX470 towed in to the toyota dealer tomorrow.
key turns in lock, nothing.
sounds like the 1200 dollars key pin problem.
will check out the push button ignition option tomorrow.
