| 99 OEM Locker Fix Hi,
The OEM locker in the 99 LC I just bought does not engage ( the dash indicator light keeps flashing when attempting to activate). I have tried the obvious rolling back ward and forward ect... Do any of you have ideas, or proven methods, on how to trouble shoot and repair this?

| You tried engaging while driving with the wheels turned slightly too?
They usually are slightly frozen from their mall-cruising days.

| Reminds me of the words in the Owner's Manual:
"Difflocks should be engaged at least once per week"
I suppose it keeps them lubed.

| I have a 99 LC with the optional rear diff lock. Is that what you are having trouble with? Or is it the center lock? Just curious if I should also be "excercising" mine. Sounds like I should be. |

| Yes, I am referring to the locking mechanism in the rear axle.

| You have the center diff locked when trying to engage the rear right?
edit: and you're in low range too?

| Center diff locked is not a condition.
Low Range is. (and unless pin 7 mod is done, that means CDL is engaged)
There is of course a mod to enable RDL i Hi range as well, but that's another story.
One possibility is that the e-locker is mechanically stuck caused by disuse. (aka corroded)
I have never done it, but it should be possible to open the actuator to dislodge it if stuck.
Views, opinions, anybody?
