OBD-II not working

Hi!

Yesterday I got the OBDII interface I bought in Ebay. But i can't make it work with the 100, it only gives a "BUS INIT ERROR".

It is NOT an interface's fault, since I tried it on my other car (2001 Honda Stream) and it works fine, no errors and it shows sensor data OK.
Am I doing something wrong, or is it simply that the 100 is not really OBDII compliant? What is the other "DIAGNOSTIC" connector under the engine hood for?
TIA.

Uh, didn't think about that.
I'll take a look, thanks a lot!

Did you find out what the problem is?

Going to get a reader/tester myself. Just want to know whether to expect any problems.

Not yet. I need to find some free time to chech the connector. I hope it's just a dirty or bent pin.

All US spec vehicles had to be obd II complient by 1996. All Toyotas were by 1994. Take it to Autozone. Free OBD testing nationwide.

Thanks for the info, but it would be a little bit too expensive to cross the Atlantic, only for testing the OBD

I plan on taking a look at it this weekend. Will post results.

I bought a Auto X-ray tool from and online tool cataloge. I bought a cheaper model. Turns out cheaper sometimes means you don't get all the software loaded. I ended up upgrading the capibilities of the unit via internet download. It's worked pretty good. My neighbors all like it.
