Another use for the 20004s

I was out on Sunday shopping for an oil filter for my wife's 2004 Sienna. Toy parts was closed and my choices were the usual stores and Napa. The catalog for K&N and Mobil1 both show the same filter is used for the 1997 Land Cruiser and the 2004 Sienna. Since I had a stock of 20004 filters at home, I figured the 20004 would work fine in the Sienna. It turns out the 20004 filter is a little longer than the stock filter, but when installed there is still more than an inch of clearence between the front of the filter and the fan shroud. It *seems* to work fine.

Disclaimer: I am not recommending you run a non-approved filter on your Sienna. I'm just saying I did as an expedient and everything is normal.

Is that the correct one for the 1986 FJ-60 with a 2F?

It is a lot smaller than the aftermarket ones that are currently on both my FJ-60's. One is a Baldwin filter and the other was running a PH8A.
They sold me the very same filter for my 1FZ. Dan, is this filter appropriate or are they just giving me what they've got?

Andy,

The parts department at Maita is now open on Sundays.

They are giving you the TMS USA provided filter. That is the paper element version produced in Thailand for Toyota. The vast majority of the population buys on price as opposed to quality, hence that filter exists.

Thanks Dan. I have a related question but I'll put it over in tech instead of hijacking this one any more.
